The Big Student Meeting

SUBU's Big Student Meeting is your opportunity to discuss, debate and vote on the issues that really matter at SUBU and BU. It's your chance to have a real impact on your experience at university and play in active role in leading change.


The Big Student Meeting takes place on Tuesday 21st February, in the Mary Wollstonecraft Lecture Theatre, Bournemouth House at Lansdowne Campus. Here you can find all of the relevant links to reports that are being presented at this years Big Student Meeting.

The issues being discussed are:

1)  Should SUBU lobby BU for 24/7 full library services at Lansdowne?

2) Should SUBU introduce a price check or comparison system within the student shop to other shops?

3) Should SUBU debates to be closed off, permitting only students and staff to attend?

4) SUBU should lobby BU for printer credit to be assigned at the beginning of the academic year?


The Big Student Meeting is your chance to see and offer your feedback on how SUBU has been run over the last year, there will be updates from the Full Time Elected officers and the Executive committee and details about SUBU's finances and expenditure.

The agenda is set by an all-student Executive Committee. Past outcomes include lobbying to reduce student accommodation costs and campaign to get more student parking permits.
