The students union exists to be the primary voice for the students. With nearly 18,000 students studying at BU, as you can imagine, issues that affect our student body crop up all of the time.

That’s where SUBU comes in - to guarantee that positive change is made to your student experience.

While we are also about fun, friends, socialising and partying - there's a very serious element that lets us put you in the driving seat for determining how valuable and memorable your time is here.

These are your newly elected officers for 2011/2012! If you missed the elections, get the booklet HERE. 

Each of the part time officers has their own area of university life or group of students to represent.

Elected in the same way as the full time officers, the SUBU executive committee aims to ensure that every student type has a voice.

The SUBU Executive has weekly meetings chaired by the president. Here they discuss student issues, often raised by students themselves, and make decisions on your behalf based on consultation and research.

The officers also plan and run campaigns throughout the year. These campaigns span areas such as education, involvement, and student welfare.
