Be A Leader

At SUBU our aim is to make a positive impact on the every BU student’s journey. This includes helping you to develop, teaching you new skills and making you more employable.

Let us help you take on more responsibility. You might like to become a MAD Day or Student Project Leader, Minibus Driver or part of the Volunteer Committee it’s totally up to you!

Being a leader isn’t just about putting something else on your CV, it’s about gaining responsibility and learning new skills. The awesome thing about SUBU Volunteering is being part of a team that creates such a positive impact on communities and individuals.

Gemma Kingshott, Volunteer Committee President 2014/15

I have enjoyed every activity that I have taken part in and I have also developed or learnt new skills along the way. It feels good to help out in the community, where I have seen that even just a few hours work can make a huge difference!

Rachael Topping, Volunteer & MAD Leader 2013

Volunteering has influenced my career path during my time at BU, and running a project shows my future employers that I am capable of so many different skills, but also that I can share my passion for the environment with people who also want to help make a difference. I feel very proud to have been part of SUBU Volunteering.

Alys Penfold, Beach Champions Leader 2014/15

We recruit every year and will train you up so you are equipped to take charge of a project team. Get in touch with the SUBU Volunteering team if you are interested in being a leader.
