CAN I HAVE MY TICKET RESENT TO ME?
Yes, please go to the following website to get your tickets resent to you:
WHAT IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY EMAIL ADDRESS FOR MY TICKET?
Include all the booking details you have, your name and explain the problem.
DO I NEED TO PRINT OUT MY TICKET?
YES YOU MUST print your ticket and bring it with you for the event. Do not rely on your phone for evidence of your ticket.
ARE TICKET NUMBERS SECURITY CODED?
Yes they are and they will be scanned on entry. Invalid ticket codes and duplicate tickets are easy for us to detect using our scanners and you will be denied entry if you do not possess a valid ticket.
DO I NEED TO ORGANISE MY OWN TRANSPORT TO AND FROM THE SITE?
NO YOU DON’T HAVE TO - WE HAVE INCLUDED TRANSPORT TO AND FROM THE EVENT IN YOUR TICKET.
The Summer Ball buses only run from The Old Fire Station and they begin runs from 4pm. Queues are shorter if you come earlier. Returns from the site start at 1am and drop you back near The Old Fire Station only. Remember if you are drunk you won’t be allowed on the bus! There is no car parking onsite.
Taxis can drop and pick up at the event - but only on the designated taxi rank, not on the roads approaching the event.
IS THERE A CHECKLIST TO ENSURE I GET IN OK ?
Entry conditions – the site opens at 4PM… If you don’t have a proper ticket YOU WON’T GET IN. If you turn up after 11pm YOU WON’T GET IN. If you can’t prove your +18 age YOU WON’T GET IN. If you’re drunk or abusive YOU WON’T GET IN. If you have an invalid ticket YOU WON’T GET IN.
WHEN WILL WE KNOW THE RUNNING ORDER OF ENTERTAINMENTS ?
Artist stage times – view the guide HERE, and the info is on Facebook and on posters up around the event. To make the most of the event it’s worth arriving early to catch the sun going down and have a chance to look around all the stages. Each stage has a different feel and style. Some of the entertainment will be out and about amongst the crowds.
IS THERE AN OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY ?
Yes, this year The Old Fire Station throws its doors open for ‘We Are Your Friends’ from 2am to see the night through. You'll get dropped off right outside and entry is INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET. Then from about 4am start heading down to pier approach for the famous Survivors photo – taken at ~5am on the pier approach as the sun comes up, can you make it through? You can be the first to see the photo by following SUBU Summer Ball 2016 on Facebook.
WHAT FOOD WILL BE AVAILABLE ?
There will be a wide variety of food availble at the ball from different outlets, including street food. Unfortunately as they are external outlets we cannot be certain of the food available for those with specific dietary requirements, so would advise eating a large meal before attending the ball.
CAN I BRING IMITATION WEAPONS WITH MY OUTFIT ?
Imitation weapons – if your fancy dress outfit has any kind of imitation weapon or similar (pointy, sticky or likewise) then these will get confiscated on the door. Sorry but imitation guns, water pistols, spears, bats, clubs or equivalent are a no no.
WHEN WILL ALL THE PHOTOS/VIDS COME OUT ?
SUBU’s own excellent Nerve Media Squad will be capturing all the Summer Ball 2016 action including photo-sets, videos, interviews and publishing a Summer Ball review magazine straight after. Make sure you’re following the Ball and SUBU facebook and twitter channels.
IS IT GOING TO RAIN ?
How’s the weather looking? Sunny of course! We would recommend bringing something warm to wear as you may well get pretty cold at 2am. Leave high heels at home (the ground is soft) and if you bring a coat we have a cloakroom to look after it.
WHAT SORT OF PRICES WILL I PAY FOR FOOD AND DRINK ?
There is a food quarter area of the site where you’ll be able to get anything from burgers to noodles, teas and coffees. There are plenty of bars serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Our top tip – have a massive slap up lunch at home before you head out, and then get a top up later on at the ball.
HOW DO I RE-SELL MY TICKET IF REQUIRED ?
We would urge extreme caution when buying any resold tickets anywhere other than from SUBU directly. In 2014 there was a spate of forgeries that got caught and this led to a great deal of distress, all of the forgeries were sold through facebook/twitter contacts. Even if your ticket is genuine you may have had to pay too much for it.
SUBU will run a ticket re-sale system for 2016 when all the tickets for the event have sold out. When tickets are sold out we will try and sell any surplus tickets on behalf of the original purchaser (at face value). If we sell your ticket you will receive the money. If we don not manage to sell your ticket you will not get any money back. The ticket re-selling will be done only through SUBU reception in the Student Centre.
WHAT DO PEOPLE WEAR?
The Ball is a fancy-dress mecca and themes are embarked upon weeks before! Allow yourself at least Friday night and all day Saturday to get psyched up and ready. However it’s advisable to leave the heels at home and bring something warm for the journey home. There is a cloakroom (£1 an item) and all stages are under cover.
WHAT IS THE SURVIVORS PHOTO ?
It's your free souvenir of your Summer Ball. Can you make it till 5am? The Survivors photo is the ultimate prize and one only awarded the the strongest party veterans at sunrise next to Bournemouth Pier. Here's what happens below...
