About Nerve* Radio
Nerve* Radio was set up in 1995 by two proactive students who wanted to have a radio station to use at their leisure. In the spirit of the Students' Union recognising eager, enthusiastic students we set it up for them. In the beginning Nerve* Radio was VERY different from the plush, sound proofed studios that there are now. It started in a porta cabin outside Poole House near to Barclay's cash machine. Ever since 1995 we have run a two week FM broadcast each year, which is presented entirely by students here at Bournemouth University. Phill Jupitus has presented his BBC 6 breakfast show from our very own Nerve* studio which was a great experience for all the volunteers who got to meet him and some lucky students who got to interview him.
If you want to get involved with Nerve* Radio you don't need to have any experience. We will train you to use the studio and you can dedicate as much or as little time as you have free. For more details and to arrange training email Jacqui Kane on jkane@bournemouth.ac.uk or phone 01202 961306.
