NaSTA (National Student Television Association)

Over the years Nerve* TV has won countless awards at NaSTA (National Student Television Association. Each year Nerve* TV sends in entries to the NaSTA awards in a variety of categories.

What Is NaSTA?

NaSTA is a collective of all the student TV stations from across the UK. Set up to help them communicate as a community and overcome problems, to offer advice, and to help new stations set up. It organises an annual conference and awards ceremony to showcase the best in Student Television, and raise the profile of Student Television in the industry. For more info visit www.nasta.tv

National Student Television Association Conference

The main event in the student TV calendar is the NaSTA conference and awards held around Easter. This is a 3 day event, hosted by a different student TV station each year. It consists of various sessions from guest lectures, seminars, technical workshops to social events giving the opportunity to communicate with other student TV stations. This is a great forum to meet other like minded people and share ideas and find out how other stations work. During the conference each station is required to produce a short programme made by each station in half an hour (the golden bodge!). A style, genre and line are pick out of a hat at random and these dictate the format for each stations bodge. The golden bodge’s are viewed by all on the final day of the conference. The event culminates in an awards dinner on the last night where television industry professionals judge the entries.
