► Advice

The Student Advice Centre provides free, independent and confidential advice and information to existing and prospective students. The service is non-judgemental and accessible, and works with students to resolve their concerns

We offer advice on housing, appeals and complaints, benefits, funding and finance, health, employment laws, personal and legal issues. If you’re not sure whether we can advise you, just come up and check, we’ll almost definitely be able to help you in some way. We have a wide range of knowledge (if we do say so ourselves) and anything we don’t know can be easily found out from our extensive library of resources.

Students can contact Advice Centre whenever they like, although the Advice Centre is based at Bournemouth University in Poole you can phone on 01202 965779 or email us for advice by contacting studentadvice@bournemouth.ac.uk

We also have up to date information and advice on our website;

www.subu.org.uk/advice

Jobshop

As well as the Advice Centre we also have a Job Shop. So if at any time you find you need some income (that’s shopping and going out money to you and me), check out www.subu.org.uk/jobshop for the easy way to find part time jobs in your area, whether it be Bournemouth, Salisbury, Weymouth or somewhere else in the South West.

The Job Shop is a service provided to help students find part time jobs if they need extra money while studying. Although the jobs are not vetted by the Students’ Union, only jobs with a maximum of 20 hours a week are advertised to ensure students can balance all aspects of student life
