  • In the Student Centre,
  • In the Student Village,
  • In the BoHo lounge,
  • In Winton in the car parks at Leslie Road and Cranmer Road,
  • Outside Winton Library,

  • By leaving a Big Give bag out on a Tuesday at the kerbside in Winton.

Where can I get a Big Give Bag?

Your Big Give bag should be delivered in the first week of May to houses in the Winton Area, if you need more or didn’t get one- then you can collect more from campus on the Big Give information table in the Student Centre- or look out for the Student Community Wardens patrolling Winton who will be able to give you an extra bag.

How can I get involved?

We will always need extra helpers during the Big Give time of year so if you want to get involved then please email here

How long do I have to clear out my unwanted stuff?

You have from the beginning of May when you get your Big Give bag all the way until the end of June to clear out and decide what you want to keep and what you want to donate to the Big Give. Collections in Winton start on the 16th May and go on until the 27th June.

Where is it all going?

All of the donations collected will be going to the British Heart Foundation which helps fund lifesaving research into heart conditions, as well as going to people in need in the local Bournemouth area through charities such as Hope for Food, The Salvation Army and the Trussell Trust.

What’s the point of the Big Give?

The whole point of the Big Give is to clear the streets of Winton and Bournemouth of unwanted items- we want all unwanted items to be reused or recycled- your rubbish may be someone else’s treasure! In making sure the local area is kept clean and tidy it is also a great opportunity to donate all the unwanted items to charity- which helps the charities raise vital funds to carry on their amazing work!

I have a larger item to get rid of- e.g. Televisions, Sofas etc. how do I get rid of this?

You can call 0800 915 3000 to get the British heart Foundation to come and collect your items free of charge! You can also use websites such as Freecycle.org to list your unwanted items to local people who will come to you and pick it up! If you have access to transport you can take this to one of Bournemouth’s recycling centres- more information here!
