Is the role for me?

You will work as part of the Advice Crew team, but also complete activities independently. You will develop confidence in communicating with others and will be required to show initiative. This role will provide you with experience of working within a legal environment.

This role is suited to any student wishing to support and educate other students, and who wish to enhance their own professional competencies. Specifically, students who study Marketing, Law, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology and Events Management may find this role of particular interest.

 

This role would best suit those who:

  • Have a lived experience that could be shared with the aim to help and support other students, e.g. poor housing, academic issue/s, money worries.
  • Enjoy team working
  • Would like to improve their communication skills
  • Would like to meet likeminded students outside of their accommodation and course
  • Would like experience of working within an Advice Service

We welcome students from any faculty and level of study, and offer a flexible approach as we understand your studies come first.

What do you require from a volunteer?

We will need each volunteer to invest at least 10 hours per term.

 

What happens if I can't guarantee my time for the whole academic year?

If you are not sure that you can offer 10 hours per term then don't worry. We will work with each volunteer to ensure they are supported and where necessary reduce a volunteers hours.
