Rope Climbing Introduction

Tue 12 November 2019 19:15-21:30

Harewood College

Do you want to learn how to rope climb?

Well lucky for you we are putting on a teaching evening. This evening you will be taught about all of the equipment you will be using, how to tie the correct knots, how to belay a climber up & down the wall and all safety-related things as well.

This will be a two-week commitment that you must attend both sessions. At the end of the second session, you will be doing a competency test to prove you know the skills that you have been taught. Bypassing the test it will allow you to climb without a chaperon and will be allowed to join on club rope climbing trips.

The first session is going to be on the 12th and 19th of November at Harewood College and going to run from 7:15 to 9:30. The cost of this will only be the entry fee which is 3.50 and we will supply you with all of the equipment needed for rope climbing.

We are going to be holding these evenings throughout the next month and a half, so if you don’t get a spot on the first session, don’t worry more will be advertised soon. If you are already rope confident, you are more than welcome to head down and do your competency test straight away and start climbing.
