SUBU Job Shop offers you direct contact with the 18,000+ students studying at Bournemouth University.  Our students can access the adverts online. SUBU Job Shop can therefore offer employers fast access to well-educated, eager, and adaptable staff, we also offer support to our students with their CVs and applications making them high-quality candidates.

The aim of the Students' Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) Job Shop is to assist employers with advertising part-time, casual, and temporary vacancies to our students who are looking for work.

Work placements, graduate jobs, and other full-time jobs are available to be listed on the BU Careers My Careers Hub.

Here at the SUBU Job Shop, we will not advertise opportunities that exceed working hours in excess of 20 hours per week in term time due to our students' commitments to their studies and our commitment to our students’ wellbeing. Of course, they can increase their hours during holiday periods.

As a charitable organisation, the money that you contribute to your recruitment package goes back into supporting our student support services, and activities and improving the student experience at Bournemouth University.

The SUBU Jobshop will not enter into contracts with students or employers. Contracts of employment are to be agreed upon directly between the employer and the student. As such, the role of the SUBU Job Shop might be best understood as being more aligned to a job centre rather than a commercial employment agency.

How to book

  1. Create or log in to your guest account.
  2. Select your advertising package from the selection below.
  3. Complete the form at checkout.

On receipt of your order, we will enter your details on the SUBU Job Shop database and your advert will be live for one month or as long as you put on your application from. If you have any other questions about how to book, the charges or anything else, please contact the Jobshop via e-mail subujobshop@bournemouth.ac.uk.

  • Standard Advert - Job Shop (10 months)£480.00 Standard vacancy advertisement for a 10-month listing on the SUBU Job Shop. Incl. VAT
  • SUBU Job Shop Email Advert - Student Monthly Newsletter£180.00 Inclusion in next monthly email newsletter, sent on first Wednesday of the month. Landscape artwork: JPG, PNG or HTML 1920px x 1080px. Incl. VAT
  • Quarter-page Advert - Student Newspaper£180.00 Quarter-page Advert in the 'SUBU News' student newspaper. 3,000 copies delivered to students accommodation semi-monthly (6 times a year). Portrait artwork: JPG, PNG or PDF 125mm x 145mm.
  • SUBU Weekly Banner Advert - Weekly Email Newsletter£180.00 Banner advert inclusion in the next weekly email newsletter, sent every Monday, to all opted in BU students. Currently 15,000 students opted in to recieve. Landscape artwork: JPG, PNG or HTML 720px x 100px. Incl. VAT.
  • Full Advertisement Package (save £120)£480.00 The Full Advertisement Package includes: Standard vacancy advertisement listing for 1 month. Inclusion in next monthly email newsletter (first Wednesday of the month). Landscape artwork: JPG, PNG or HTML 1920px x 1080px.
