Before signing off on a page, run through this checklist and make sure all criteria is met. It can feel like a bit of a slog but ensures your site loads quickly, is optimised for search engines, and that it looks as good as it possibly can (which in turn helps with students finding the information they need).
- Does your page have a title?
- Does your page have a page description?
- Does your page have an image?
- Is your page using the correct template?
- If this is a new page, have you added it to the appropriate navigation menu?
- Does the content on your page follow the correct heading structure? i.e. only h2, h3, and h4 tags in the content area, in the correct order (more guidance on w3.org)
- Have the images on your page been optimised? (More guidance on adobe.com)
- Do the images on your page have alt text? (More guidance on harvard.edu)
- Has the content on your page been appropriately formatted?
- Has old HTML and CSS been removed from pages? This could interfere with the page's design
