AFC Bournemouth look to extend their seven game unbeaten run on Saturday as they host high-flying Sunderland.

The Cherries have won four and drawn three of their last seven games; coming into this weekend having drawn 0-0 at West Ham last weekend.

Andoni Iraola watched from the stands at London Stadium as his side defended well to come home with a point.

Iraola and his players face Sunderland who have been the surprise package of the Premier League this season.

Having signed the likes of Granit Xhaka, Brian Brobbey, Nordi Mukiele and Bertrand Traore, the Black Cats have performed well and achieved 36 points already this season.

It was Regis Le Bris’ side who came out on top in the reverse fixture this season.

An Amine Adli goal and a Tyler Adams’ strike from the half-way line had the Cherries 2-0 up at half-time at the Stadium of Light.

Despite the two-goal deficit, the hosts scored three in the second half to take all three points.

Iraola said it was the toughest result of the season so far. He said: “We started really strong the game.

“It turned with the penalty. It was never a penalty. But still they found a way to change the game; to punish us.

“There are threats that we will have to deal with tomorrow because they are a team is very good, especially on offensive set plays.

Iraola revealed that Lewis Cook will be out for ‘some weeks’ after sustaining a hamstring injury in training last week.

Marcus Tavernier, Tyler Adams and David Brooks are all available for Saturday’s match after recently returning from injury.

A win for the Cherries could see them end the weekend in seventh above Brentford, who they face on Tuesday night.
