From winning Best Group in the 2022 BRIT Awards, to embarking on their world tour, Wolf Alice have made themselves heard this year.

The accredited alternative, indie rock band performed to a sold-out show at Southampton Guildhall last Monday. We were invited to watch what can only be described as a world-class performance.

The support act – Lucia & The Best Boys – kicked off the night with an energetic performance. It warmed the audience, in anticipation for the main act.

Fans after the show praised the group: “I loved them, they were great and they amped you up for what was to come. I’d go and see them if they did their own headline show.”

Sophie said: “Both bands were genuinely brilliant, it was really good. I’d definitely see them all over again.”

Wolf Alice came out to a sea of applause from excited supporters.

From the beginning they matched, if not topped, the energy and spirit built up from Lucia & The Best Boys. The crowd were loving every moment.

Lead singer Ellie Rowsell has an angelic, delicate, yet powerful voice. Her tones in the more pop-ballad style songs had the audience entranced onto every word.

At times, her powerful vocal range quite literally stunned the crowd, leaving them to admire and listen.

Performing tracks from their critically acclaimed ‘Blue Weekend’ album which released last year, Ellie Roswell’s vocals exceeded expectations amongst die-hard fans.

Another fan we spoke to after the performance said: “This was my third time seeing Wolf Alice and it was by far the best show I have seen them put on. They have upped the production of the show and it was clear to see.”

The highlight of the evening was the show-stopping performance of ‘How Can I Make It Ok’. The whole crowd sang along with exuberance, and the atmosphere throughout was incredible to experience.

Mega-fan Josh said: “It’s pretty sick, this is the fifth gig I’ve been to so far, and I’ve really enjoyed it.

“My girlfriend got me into Wolf Alice, she blares it all the time out of the speakers at home! It’s been good”.

With the acclaims they have received over the last few years, Wolf Alice truly showcased what all the hype is about.
