The Students’ Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) has launched a brand-new look ahead the new academic year.

Inspired by Bournemouth’s stunning coastline, the refreshed brand features an updated logo, wave-themed design elements, and a modern colour palette - replacing a look that had been in place for over a decade.

The new identity has already begun rolling out digitally and will appear physically across the Students’ Union building in the coming weeks.

Esther Isaiah, President at SUBU, said: “This rebrand about making SUBU easier to connect with, more visible across campus, and more representative of the energy we bring to our student community. We wanted an identity that truly reflects where we are, and who our work is for.”

As part of the rebrand, SUBU has collaborated with local artist Doddy Design, who is creating a series of bespoke murals within the Union building, each representing different aspects of student life.

A newly designed website will also launch later this month. With a simplified layout and clearer navigation, the site will make it easier for students to find support, get involved, and explore what SUBU has to offer.

“We know students today expect clarity, connection, and authenticity,” added Esther. “This rebrand is our commitment to delivering exactly that – in every wave of their student journey.”

The full brand refresh will be in place when students return to campus in September 2025.
