The Students’ Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) has launched a brand-new strategy focused on making students at Bournemouth University (BU) the happiest in the country.

The strategy has been built on a simple belief that when students feel happy, supported and heard, they are able to thrive during their time at university. Everything that SUBU does over the coming years will be guided by their mission to improve student happiness in meaningful ways.

From representation and wellbeing, to community and belonging, the new strategy sets out how SUBU will create an environment where students can feel confident and empowered throughout their time at BU.

At a time where working partnership is more important than ever, we’ve worked with Bournemouth University to coordinate the launch of our strategy ahead of the launch of BU2035 on Tuesday (27 January).

Andy Squire, Chief Executive Officer at SUBU, said: “As SUBU marks its 50th year, our new strategy is about looking ahead as much as reflecting on how far we’ve come. It sets a clear, evidence-led direction for the future, focusing on what matters most to students and ensuring they feel happy during their time at BU.”

This marks a bold and positive step forward for SUBU, with happiness not just as an outcome, but as the measure of success.
