Volunteer Role Player

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

Experience in a variety of scenarios is an essential part of training for Police and role-playing is part of the learning process. Volunteer role players add an authenticity to these scenarios and so allow trainee Police Officers an experience of the ‘real-life’ situations that they may be confronted with when on patrol, whilst in a safe environment.

Benefits to self

Role player volunteers will have the opportunity to roleplay in training courses, such as acting as a suspect or being interviewed as a detainee. Volunteers will be able to display their acting abilities, improve their interpersonal skills and help provide real-life scenarios for Police Officers.

Supporting in the training of police officers within the Dorset Police allowing them to practice their skills and put training into action.

Transport details

The training takes part at both Ferndown Police Station and Winfrith Police Headquarters. Volunteers can choose what training they would like to attend and where.
