SUBU is a student-led organisation, which means students are at the heart of how we make decisions and set our priorities.
Our elected Student Officers represent the views and interests of Bournemouth University students, while our Board of Trustees is responsible for making sure SUBU is well-run, financially responsible and working towards its charitable purpose.
There are lots of ways for students to have a say in what we do – from voting in elections and standing as a Student Officer, to becoming a Student Rep, getting involved in democratic meetings or sharing your ideas and feedback.
The Board makes sure we're meeting our legal and charitable responsibilities, managing our finances responsibly and working towards our strategic goals. It also provides oversight and challenge to make sure we're delivering in the best interests of our students.
Our Board is made up of our four elected Full-Time Officers, Lay Trustees and External Trustees, bringing together student experience with professional knowledge and expertise.

SUBU is a not-for-profit organisation. Any surplus we generate is reinvested into our work for students.
We receive income from a range of sources, including our commercial activities and funding arrangements with Bournemouth University. This helps us provide services, activities, representation and opportunities for students.
Our Board of Trustees oversees SUBU's financial management and makes sure our resources are used responsibly and in line with our charitable purpose.
Our annual reports and accounts give you an overview of what we've achieved and how we've managed our finances.
