Students have been asking for a U1 bus service at weekends, but you can already travel easily between Talbot and Lansdowne campuses using existing Morebus routes 6 and 17 at discounted prices.

On Saturdays, both the 6 and 17 run every 30 minutes, providing a regular and reliable service between campuses. On Sundays, the 17 continues to run every 30 minutes, while the 6 operates hourly.

These routes are run by Morebus, the same company that operates the U1, which means. if you have a BU annual bus pass, your journey is already included, so there’s no need to pay anything extra as it’s valid across all Zone A services.

If you don’t have an annual pass, you can still benefit from discounted tickets. By showing your student ID to the driver you can purchase single and return tickets in Morebus Zone A at child fare prices.  If you are making multiple journeys you can purchase a Unibus 10 trip pass (valid on Morebus Zone A) or  dayrider ticket through the Unibus app. It’s important not to tap your bank card, as this will charge you the full adult fare instead.

You can catch both the 6 and 17 from Stand G at Talbot Campus, located on the main road next to the bus hub on Fern Barrow. Both routes also stop near halls in Lansdowne, making it easy to travel between campuses in either direction.
