Every Wednesday, we'll be bringing people together for an evening of drinks, games, challenges, and a chance to meet new people.

Each week will have its own theme! More details will come as each Wednesday approaches. We'll kick things off at a different location each week for pres

Each social consists of team challenges and drinking games. There are a variety of prizes for the winners and unfortunately some forfeits for the losers

After pres, we'll head over to local bars such as Barbara's, where we'll have a table booked for everyone to carry on the night. Then, for those still standing, we'll make our way to The Old Fire Station for Fishies to finish off the night properly.

We created The Weekly Excuse Society because we noticed that university socs can sometimes feel like they're aimed at people with a such a niche interest (whether that's sport, a hobby, or a course) which can feel daunting.

That's where we come in.

You don't need to be sporty. You don't need to have a particular hobby. You don't need to know anyone before coming along. You just need to fancy doing something on a Wednesday.
