July-August, Mid-Month Music Roundup

Curated by Nerve Now & Co.

Following the success of Blonde's debut EP Out Of The Neighbourhood, including Coming Of Age; which has surpassed 1.8 billion Tiktok views and over 40 million streams, on July 14th Blondes released their newest 6-track EP In Separation via Lab Records / C3 Records. The EP features the singles Beautiful World and Love In The Afternoon, both of which enjoyed sustained support from BBC Radio 1 and BBC Introducing. The EP's runtime is 20 minutes long, the perfect amount of time to appreciate the lyricism and fall in love (with them) in the afternoon (see what I did there!)

Blondes are due to start their tour of the UK next month, September, with a run of 4 shows (see listed below) :)

John Wardle, better known as Jah Wobble, has announced his new album, A Brief History Of Now, which was released just a few days ago on August 11th under Cleopatra Records. Co-writer, producer, and performer Jon Klein, from Siouxsie & The Banshees, helped Wobble bring the album to life and thus, also on the first released single from the album, Last Exit, which is available now. You can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2_3uk9Ey8o

Known for forming Public Image Ltd with Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon and Keith Levene, Wobble's collaborations have since included Brian Eno, Bjork, and Sinead O'Connor, and his groundbreaking and innovative bass playing has cemented his place in music history. Alongside creating and solidifying his legacy within the music industry in the late 90s, Wobble is also a published author of several books, covering a variety of subjects. Jah Wobble will embark on a two-month tour across the UK, from late October to early December, making sure to keep the gigs intimate and personal. Find more local tour information below!

DMA's have just released their fourth studio album, How Many Dreams?, as well as a return to the UK over 10 dates in December this year. The Australian trio played their biggest headlining show earlier this year at the OVO Arena, Wembley; leaving them only wanting more! Tom O'Dell's sharp vocals throughout this 12-track record are truly astonishing. Accompanied by the electronic dance elements within the production, his voice is complimented perfectly.

DMA's released their 'Get Ravey' music video on the 11th of this month, taken from the new album. The music video depicts a group of boys living out their youth, soundtracked by DMA's music. A simple yet effective video of how beautiful the world can be when you're not experiencing it through a phone, I say as I watch the music video on a phone, ironic I know. Check it out for yourself here: (132) DMA'S — Get Ravey (Official Music Video) - YouTube
