Dear students,
As with many universities around the country, we recognise BU’s actions to address its ongoing financial pressures.
Understandably, this has led to concerns within our student community around the future of their learning, given the university’s redundancy consultations.
As your Students’ Union, we have been engaged in the consultation process. We are in active dialogue with the university leadership to make recommendations on how we see the best outcome for your experience.
We have critically reviewed the available documents and are preparing a formal submission to ensure your interests are clearly represented, particularly in areas where proposed changes may affect your experience.
We maintain a constructive working relationship with the university and will confidently represent your interests. We welcome your feedback and encourage conversations that help us understand your views.
BU's Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Prof. Alison Honour, has agreed that students should have the opportunity to have their questions answered directly by BU leadership, and will be holding a Q&A session on Tuesday 20 May in Lees Lecture Theatre, Poole House, Talbot Campus from 11.15am to 12.15pm.
Your SU President Esther will be present to answer any questions you have about how your views and interests are being represented. There is no need to book; you can drop in at any time during the event.
Support can be accessed via SUBU Advice through drop-in sessions on floor two of the Student Centre, or you can contact the team at subuadvice@bournemouth.ac.uk.
