Empowering Student Voices for a More Connected Bournemouth University
We're thrilled to announce a significant victory for our student community and an inspiring achievement for SUBU’s Full-Time Officer, Fiifi Asafu-Adjaye, Vice President of Student Opportunities.
Following Fiifi's outstanding campaign alongside SportBU earlier this year, Bournemouth University will be introducing a permanent bus service to Chapel Gate, strengthening the bond between BU campuses and enhancing the accessibility of their sports facilities.
The trial transport service, which ran from January to March this year,, received overwhelming positive feedback from students, highlighting the need for a permanent transportation solution to Chapel Gate. Following Fiifi’s successful lobbying to the university, we are excited to announce the U5 route will be starting this October. The U5 route will directly connect Lansdowne and Talbot Campus to Chapel Gate, operating exclusively on Wednesdays.
This service aims to facilitate easy access for both our performance sport athletes and all students interested in cheering on our incredible teams. Whether you're an athlete, a supporter, or simply curious to explore the vibrant sports environment, the U5 bus service is here to enhance your experience.
The U5 route will be included in the annual pass, making it easily accessible to all pass holders. And for those who prefer flexibility, you can purchase 10 trip tickets via our user-friendly app to conveniently scan on board. Please note that cash transactions will not be accepted on this route. To ensure your comfort during the journey, the U5 route will be operated by an Exelscior coach, providing ample space for you to carry any necessary equipment. We want to make sure you have everything you need to thrive in your sports activities and beyond.
