From 18th – 28th May, we asked students to have their say on whether Students’ Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) should remain a member of NUS UK.
The question put to students was: “Should SUBU disaffiliate from NUS UK?”
We can now reveal the outcome of the NUS UK affiliation Referendum. With 54 votes cast in total, turnout reached 0.47% of the student members.
These are the results:
31 votes (57.41%) – Yes: SUBU should leave NUS UK
23 votes (42.59%) – No: SUBU should remain in NUS UK
0 votes (0%) – Abstain: I choose not to vote either Yes or No
Quoracy for this vote was not met and therefore a conclusion could not be drawn. As the Referendum was called by the SUBU Trustee Board, the results will be referred back to them for their attention.
Thank you to everyone who engaged with SUBU’s democratic processes. We will keep you updated on the next steps – in the meantime, if you have any questions, please do get in touch.
