My name is Chiedozie Chukwujiuba Nwagu. I am running for the Student Union President at BU. I served as the Student Representative for two courses, where I worked with students to solve visa, housing and academic concerns.
I was a Research Assistant on two novel research projects at BU, with one being a voluntary service. I am currently a Student Ambassador where I have put BU on the global map, as a citadel of learning.
I am running for president because I can work to resolve some BU-related issues, namely:
1. Expand Inclusion/Diversity and Create Employment: BU Food Hubs has a deprivation problem. I will ensure the diversification of food options and consequently create opportunities for students’ welfare and employment.
2. Enhancing the learning Development Team: Students shy away from using the resources available to them due to adherence to strict formalities. I will work to bridge the gap by including students in the learning development team.
3. Reward System: I will liaise with the school administration for the establishment of the Dean’s Honor Roll that will reward students for achieving academic milestones.
4. Tuition fee payment problems: I will work to fix tuition fee payment problems for international students by liaising with designated banks.
6. Free Bus Pass for all BU students on designated routes: The economy is harsh on everyone, including students. I will make a case for free bus pass on selected routes, for all BU students.
7. Creation of wider Research Assistantship Roles for suitably qualified students: Assistantships come by chance at BU. I will propose that it is made more available.
