What is Freshers Fair?

The SUBU Freshers Fair is a HUGE exhibition that is free to attend for ALL BU students. This is your chance to talk to 100's of SUBU Clubs and Societies, groups and find out about numerous volunteering and fundraising opportunities that are available to you to take part in alongside your studies. This is a great way to get more out of your time at BU!

There will also be a wide range of over 90 local and national businesses, fused together with live entertainment, sports demos, music, food and drink! There are absolutely loads of freebies and discounts that you can collect, so make sure you don't miss out!

Are you a SUBU Club or Society?

All the Freshers' Fair bookings for the many SUBU clubs and societies are being organised by our SUBU Student Opportunities team, please contact them and they will help you organise your pitch. The earlier you put your request in then the better your location will be!

SUBU club or society book your promotional stand early via email: suclubs@bournemouth.ac.uk

You must reserve your arrival slot and to gain access to the fair. You MUST arrive within your slot to avoid queues. DO NOT ARRIVE early or late!

For the first time ever Freshers Fair is taking place in Lansdowne and the entrance is through the front of Old Fire Station, 36 Holdenhurst Road.

You MUST be wearing a face covering unless exempt. You must check in with the NHS track and trace app. You must be in a group of 6 or less. You MUST keep 2m distance from other groups and stalls. Sanitise hands on arrival and sanitation points throughout the fair. By reserving tickets and set arrival times, SUBU can safely manage the number of students in the fair at one time.

No. We don’t want you to rush your time at the fair however you will be asked to keep moving through the one way system and not dwell for too long. This is due to numbers and letting everyone browse fairly.

We are revealing our brand lists and freebies over on the Facebook event. The first 2000 students will receive a goody bag containing lots of freebies. Stalls will also be giving out freebies, deals and tasters.

Saturday is SUBU focussed. This is the best time to come and meet all of the clubs & socs as well as finding out about other opportunities.

No unfortunately the event is restricted to BU students only due to Covid 19 restrictions.

You can sign up at www.subu.org.uk/volunteer or you can sign up at the fair once you have found out more about particular opportunities.

There will be a virtual online version of the fair available to visit through www.subu.org.uk
