Interested in combatting climate change? By joining a 4 week Raleigh Expedition in Costa Rica, you will have the opportunity to do just that.
You will be a part of an international volunteer group, working in one of Costa Rica’s many national parks. The environmental project could involve improving access throughout the parks for park rangers, scientists, and researchers, helping to maintain the parks, and reforestation work.
You will also get the opportunity to speak to community members about supporting their location national parks, climate change and how they can make a difference at home.
A Raleigh Expedition in Nepal will involve working alongside members of the community on a water, sanitation and hygiene project. You’ll be working in the Gorkha region of Nepal which was the epicentre of the earthquake in 2015. You’ll work in a team to improve access to water sources for the community. From digging the trenches to lay water pipes, building handwashing station, and tap stands. Volunteers will also hold awareness raising sessions with the community, focusing on the 7 steps of handwashing, and hosting menstrual hygiene sessions including making reusable sanitary products.
Teamwork, leadership and communication skills are all developed on a Raleigh Expedition. All of which are important when taking part in the adventure leadership trek. Volunteers will trek off the beaten track, navigate themselves and support each other to get from one camp to another. All while taking in the breathtaking views. Develop your skills on a Raleigh Expedition in Costa Rica or Nepal.
