Hello! My name is Manshi Gurung and I am running to be your Vice President of education. I am running for Vice President of education because going through university in a pandemic has made me realize there’s a lot of room for improvement in Bournemouth University. I am running because I want to help make these improvements and improve your university experience and education. You should vote for me as I have been involved with SUBU since my first year! Been student rep for my course in first year, treasurer for my society for second year and president of my society in third. I have also worked for The Old Fire Station, Student Café and Dylan’s bar as well!
If elected, I will make printing free, the university makes us pay a minimum amount to print anything, but it should be free as we pay 9250 a year for tuition! I will push for a partial refund of tuition for all who suffered from the hardship during COVID. I want all lectures to be recorded and put online so more students can have access to revisit them. I will also request for flexibility with deadlines as being capped at 50% because you were 2 minutes late due to valid reasons is unfair. The class timetable for university is also very tedious to get to, I will bring back something similar to MyBU so we will not have to keep on using double authentication to log into our lecture timetables.
