Event Info:

Ryan Dalton: Working as a stand up comedian for 6 years, running & performing live shows, during the Covid pandemic, Ryan turned to presenting via a podcast platform that he started called Into The Wild which quickly became a top 10 UK nature podcast in the Apple Charts & downloads now over 100K.

Along with Into The Wild's producer, Oscar Henderson, Ryan wanted to not only learn more about a very delicate & emotional topic, trophy hunting, but he wanted to document his learnings to present back to his audience in the UK. This project was Beyond The Trigger.

Now the film has been released, Ryan is working closely with IUCN & other organisations to develop new documentaries that dive into topics in an informative yet light hearted way.

Director Statement:

"Making Beyond The Trigger has been an incredible journey. To have an opportunity to really learn about a topic, out there in the field, was something I wish many people could have the chance to do.

This film for Oscar (the films producer) & I, was never about making people love trophy hunting, it was never about presenting it as a problem free activity or even suggesting it's always the right thing to do. The film was about going to a country that claimed to have a good community lead conservation model, learn about that & learn how trophy hunting plays it's part. Beyond The Trigger was, as the title suggests, made to help us go beyond our emotional view of the topic & listen to some people who are directly affected by decisions for the future of trophy hunting.

I met & saw some inspirational people on this trip & it's been an honor to platform their voice in this film."
