What do we do?

The award-winning Performing Arts Society (PARTS for short!) has been part of the Student Union at Bournemouth University for over 17 years.

The society provides the chance for students from all courses from both Bournemouth University & Arts University Bournemouth to come together and share their common passion for musical theatre.

PARTS has been one of the Student Union's 5* societies for the past three years, and has won SUBU’s Event of the Year award for Grease (2014) and American Idiot (2017). We were also runners up in the National Society Awards for Best Student-Led event in 2016, as well as being nominated for Society of the Year at the 2018 SUBU Activity Awards!

At the 2019 SUBU Activity Awards, PARTS was delighted to win the Community Impact award, as well as the award for Event of the Year with our production of "Half a Sixpence".

This year, PARTS' annual production was "Half a Sixpence". This was staged at the Shelley Theatre in March 2019.

Each year the society stages a full-scale musical production in the Spring term and we also host three showcases each academic year, allowing all our members of the society to show off their hidden talents.

And PARTS isn’t just for performers, we have opportunities for students interested in tech, hair, makeup, costuming and more!
