SHAG Week: Sexual Health Awareness & Guidance
Let’s Talk About Sex, Safely and Confidently
Whether you’re exploring relationships, navigating new experiences, or just want to stay clued-up, SHAG Week is here to help you feel empowered, informed, and supported when it comes to your sexual health and wellbeing.
What is SHAG Week?
SHAG stands for Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance — and it’s more than just a catchy name. It’s a week-long campaign packed with events, resources, and conversations designed to break down taboos, promote safe sex, and celebrate healthy relationships. Think of it as your go-to guide for everything from contraception to consent, pleasure to protection.
Whether you’re sexually active, curious, or simply want to learn more, SHAG Week is for everyone. No judgement, no awkwardness — just real talk and reliable info.
Why Sexual Health Matters
Sexual health is just as important as physical and mental health — but it’s often overlooked or shrouded in stigma. We want to change that.
- STIs are common among 16–24-year-olds, but testing is quick, easy, and free.
- Contraception isn’t one-size-fits-all — explore your options and find what works for you.
- Pleasure is part of the conversation — because sex should feel good and be safe.
- Consent is non-negotiable — and it applies to every kind of relationship.
Inclusive, Always
SHAG Week is proudly inclusive of all genders, sexualities, and identities. Whether you’re LGBTQIA+, asexual, non-binary, or just figuring things out — you’re welcome here. We’re committed to making sexual health resources accessible and relevant to everyone.
