We’re looking for student volunteers to get involved in our local PDSA charity shops and help raise the vital funds needed to treat poorly pets. Our shops work to raise funds to pay for veterinary treatments on pets who otherwise would be left suffering as their families couldn’t afford the bill.
PDSA shops are bright buzzing places that are so crucial to the recycling and repurposing of items people have discarded. We bring life back into old things!
Our shops specialise in Vintage Wear, sustainability & diverse volunteering.

What do you want to do? We also have a diverse range of activities you could do.
- Work on our tills serving customers?
- Work on the shop displays – window dressing, merchandising or refilling?
- Work on processing the many donations?
- Shoot a video or make posts for our social media?
- Help with a vintage celebration day? Styling customers and promoting the events?
- Help with a fundraising event of your own choice bringing more awareness for what we do as charity or extra funds in?
- Got a suggestion of your own?
When do you want to do it?
- We are open Monday to Saturday 9.30 to 4.30 & Sunday 10 – 4 so anything in this time is available all year round. Either a regular slot or floating in when you can.
- If you are working on social media style of thing, then any time that fits your schedule is fine too.
- Fully flexible around your studies; 100 hours to just 1 hour a week we don’t mind!
How can we help you?
- Feel good factor that you are helping animals and families who are struggling financially stay together so that the pet isn’t handed over at a shelter.
- We can add retail skills to your CV – customer service, merchandising, social media & business skills.
- You’ll mix with other team members from a wide background range & become one of our little crew.
- For a three hour stint upwards, we can help you with your travel costs & give you 25% discount on anything for sale in the shop.
