Beaver Volunteer

An Assistant Beaver Scout Leader supports the Beaver Scout Leader in delivering a safe, exciting, and engaging program for children aged 6-8. This role involves assisting with planning and delivering activities, encouraging participation, and fostering a positive atmosphere. Key responsibilities include supporting the "Balanced Programme," ensuring participation in residential experiences, and promoting the transition to the next scouting section.

This may look scary, but when you share the load with your team it becomes easier. You don't need commit every week, you can do as little or as much as you like. any help is grateful. 

Our beavers meet from 6 till 7.30pm on thursday evening.

 We are looking for the below:

Qualities of a Good Assistant Beaver Scout Leader:

  • Patience: The ability to remain calm and understanding when working with young children. 
  • Fairness: Ensuring all Beavers have equal opportunities and are treated with respect. 
  • Sense of Humor: The ability to create a fun and engaging atmosphere. 
  • Positive Attitude: A positive and encouraging attitude towards the Beavers and the program. 
  • Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with young people, parents, and other volunteers. 
  • Commitment to Scouting Principles: A willingness to uphold the values and principles of the Scout Association. 

As you will be with young people A DBS check will need to be done. 

We do also have space in our older section if this is something you would like to consider.
