We are seeking volunteers to help support our local policing teams in looking after their fleet of marked and unmarked vehicles.
This role involves performing basic vehicle checks, such as checking tyre pressures, fluid levels, ensuring all vehicle lights and sirens work. Ideally you will be happy to work outside, have a general interest in looking after vehicles and a desire to help your local police service.
Possible locations: Blandford, Boscombe, Bournemouth, Bridport, Dorchester, Ferndown, Poole, Wareham and Weymouth.
Please note that to apply for any Police volunteer role you will need to have been in the UK for 3 years.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regular checks, covering tyres, water and oil levels.
Reporting faults and low stock levels.
Keeping vehicles clean and presentable.
Keeping the station’s vehicle store organised and tidy.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Basic knowledge of cars.
Basic maintenance skills regarding tyres, oil and water.
Motivated and hard-working.
Integrity, reliability and self-discipline.
