PR & Marketing / Social Media Volunteer

At Hammersley Homes, our mission is to provide permanent support for adults who live with enduring mental health challenges and struggle with daily life. Our mission, is to fill a gap in available services for this vulnerable group. We are looking for a skilled and motivated student to support our marketing activities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience across a variety of interesting marketing projects, including social media. Any contribution in this area would be warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated. This role is ongoing and we welcome volunteers who can offer short periods of support, or regular ongoing placement. Fully remote available.

About Hammersley Homes

Established in 2018, Hammersley Homes is a charity that provides long-term support for vulnerable adults who live with enduring mental health challenges and may struggle with living independently.   Our aim is to establish a nationwide network of support to help relieve loneliness and isolation.   We focus upon increasing people’s quality of life and reaching their personal goals, whilst decreasing the likelihood of relapse into a mental health crisis that can lead to hospital stays or even contact with the police.

 

About the role 

We are always looking to achieve the following:

  • Raise awareness of the issues we champion.
  • Raise the profile of Hammersley Homes and our work.
  • Raise funds.

 

We are looking for volunteers who can help us reach these goals through the use of Social Media and other Marketing and PR channels – mainly digital.

 

Do you have an interest in mental illness and championing our cause?

Are you experienced in or willing to learn about Digital Marketing and Social Media?

 

We use Hootsuite for scheduling posts, and we use Trello for uploading ideas about what to post, subjects that could be of interest to our followers and are relevant to our goals and projects.

 

What are we looking for in a Marketing, PR & Social Media volunteer?

  • Regular commitment 
  • Willingness to learn
  • An interest in raising awareness of mental illness and highlighting associated issues
  • Written communication skills - to provide information/reports
  • Motivated with the ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to turn our Social Media into a fundraising tool – or learn how to
  • A willingness to help out with various office tasks to familiarise you with our work
