BU Climate Month

We are delighted to launch Bournemouth University’s Climate Month with an expert panel, to share our new Climate & Ecological Crisis Action Plan and talk about what we, as a university and community, need to do and can do to tackle the crisis. Chaired by Stuart Laird, BU Sustainability Committee chair and Director of Estates, our panellists are:

  • Lois Betts, BU Sustainability Manager
  • Karen Thompson, Senior Lecturer In Leadership Strategy &Organisations and co-chair of the Sustainability Academic Network
  • Naomie Lebe, President of Students’ Union Bournemouth University (SUBU)
  • Neil Short, BCP Council Sustainability Manager
  • Philip Riris, Lecturer in Archaeological & Paleo-environmental Modelling and member of COP26 Universities Network

The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.

During this event you’ll have the opportunity to hear from expert panellists to understand what role universities and local communities should play in tackling the climate crisis and how we can all act in the lead up to COP26 (UN Climate Change Conference 2021) and the future.
