Itinerary 2024:

All activities optional, please pick and choose what you would like and which shops/attractions/celebrations to go to and are welcome to split up :) Our campsite is about half an hour walk from Glastonbury town.

Sun 28th

  • Meet behind SUBU building 10:00am
  • Time to check everyone has all needed equipment etc. 
  • Coach leaves 11:00am 
  • Arrive 1.30pm in Glasto
  • Set up camp 2-4pm
  • Free time/shopping and exploring 4-6pm
  • If you don't fancy walking into town then this is a great time to walk up nearby Wearyall Hill and get the classic view of Glastonbury (it's considered an important part of the traditional pilgrimage)
  • Bonfire at campsite circa 7pm-late.

Mon 29th

  • Free time all day! There will likely be some events happening but this unconfirmed as yet x
  • This is the perfect day to explore the amazing shops in town as well as wonderful attractions in the town centre area such as the Abbey and the Library of Avalon. 
  • Bonfire at campsite circa 7pm-late

 

Tues 30th

  • The market is on all day today in town from 9am-3pm next to the Abbey x
  • We have free time again today and I (Luci) will personally be spending the morning in Glastonbury Town and go to the market and then hiking up the Tor and to Gog and Magog in the afternoon which we can do as a group if y'all would like! 
  •  Bonfire at campsite circa 7pm

Weds 1st (Beltane!)

  • Sunrise - Singing and drumming to welcome the sun at the top of Glastonbury Tor
  • 7am - fire jumping ceremony (6:30 entry) at Chalice Well - there will probably be some music and celebrations afterwards 
  • 10:30-12 - Morris dancing - happening at Market Cross and Highstreet
  • 12:30 - The main event! Maypole Procession up High Street to Bushy Coombe for Beltane ceremony! Route going via Red and White Springs. (Please note this walk is up a steep hill)
  • Free time from then onwards, there will be celebrations for most of the afternoon and evening 
  • Bonfire at campsite time tbc depending on how late the celebrations last! 

 

Thurs 2nd

  • Free time all morning
  • Pack up tents by 10:00am
  • Catch coach and leave Glasto 11:00am
  • Arrive back in Bournemouth circa 2.30pm

There are many attractions in area and distance from campsite (times are all walking). As well as many many shops in town from apothecaries to viking goods, clothing to witchy supplies, crystals and soaps, musical instruments and books ! All a witch or pagan could desire. There are also many lovely cafés and venues and temples offering services and workshops, such as the Goddess Temple.

Many of these are on the way to each other so you can pass through several in one trip :)

Bring swimming gear if you aren't willing to get your underwear wet!
