Bournemouth FC were unable to progress in the FA Vase after a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Cornish side Wendron United, which ended the clubs run in the competition despite goals from Conor Jevon and Lewis Harvey.

The deadlock was broken just eight minutes into play when the home side took the lead. Jevon then replied minutes later with a neat finish just under the keeper from close range to install hope back into the tie for the away side.

Both teams enjoyed spells of possession before Wendron proved their quality by netting twice before the break, making it 3-1 at half time.

The second half saw the Poppies grab another goal back making the comeback seem possible; a corner dropped into the path of Harvey whose head scrambled the ball into the goal, the game started to stretch and Wendron claimed a fourth towards the end meaning Poppies drop out of the cup.

The Poppies are back to Wessex League action tomorrow evening at Victoria Park where they face local rivals Christchurch FC.
