Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth side travel to St Mary’s to face Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
A great unbeaten run for the Cherries ended last time out in the Premier League, losing to league leaders Liverpool 2-0.
Southampton beat Ipswich Town 2-1, which was the Saints’ first win after going 13 league games without picking up three points.
In the reverse fixture, it was the Cherries who came out on top winning 3-1. Goals from Evanilson, Antoine Semenyo and Dango Ouattara helped Iraola’s side ease past what was Russell Martin’s side back in September.
Southampton have a new face at the helm in Ivan Juric, and Andoni Iraola knows that it’ll be a different test on Saturday, Iraola said: “They’ve changed a lot.
“It’s a completely different approach with what Ivan wants to do.
“It’s not easy to play against. It’s going to be a good test.”
Many have praised Andoni Iraola for his style of play, especially away from home.
The Basque boss however says it doesn’t matter where the games are played.
Iraola said: “We don’t change our approach home or away.
“Mentally wise we have to be at a very high level; I don’t expect us to have a lot of time on the ball so we will have to adapt, and I hope we can do that.”
The Cherries may be bolstered by the additions of Luis Sinisterra and/or Alex Scott with it depending on how their training sessions went on Friday.
Southampton have lost possession in the final third more than any other team in the Premier League. Bournemouth have won possession in the final third more times than any other team.
Andoni Iraola says that this statistic is irrelevant to this new Southampton side. He said: “It’s going to be a completely different game.
“I don’t think we look into the stats across the season, just the games they’ve played with the new manager.”
A win on Saturday could mean the Cherries move up to fourth, depending on other results.
