AFC Bournemouth have signed former Chelsea and England defender Gary Cahill as they seek a return to the Premier League.

Despite so much success during his career, Cahill is still looking to win trophies and believes Bournemouth is the right place to do that and is ready for the challenge according to his new boss.

Parker continued: “This is the next challenge for him and that is exactly how he is seeing it.

“This is someone who has been in and around winning things, winning trophies, winning leagues, at the highest and the biggest accolades in the world we play in.

“And the next challenge for him is can he produce performances, can he help develop this team and push this team onto the next step, to challenge to win games and try and get promoted this year.”

Bournemouth fans will be delighted that such a high profile player has decided to join the club and shows yet more astute business done by the club after bringing the defender in on a free transfer.

Parker is confident that Cahill will be a huge asset to the club this season and declared “ he will help us this year I have no doubt” as the team seek promotion to the Premier League.
