AFC Bournemouth moved to within a point of the Premier League top four, after an incredible 5-0 win against Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium.

Dango Ouattara was the star in the second half, scoring three goals to complete his first hat-trick for the club.

The Cherries remain in 7th but have massively boosted their European prospects, and taken their unbeaten run to 11 league games.

Bournemouth started the game brightly and it took just nine minutes for the in-form Justin Kluivert to score his 11th goal of the season.

The Dutchman picked the ball up inside his own half and drove forward, before unleashing a powerful shot from the edge of the box that nestled into the left corner of the goal.

The Cherries maintained possession and fashioned chances for the remainder of the half, against a Forest side that’s 3rd in the league and unbeaten in eight matches.

Bournemouth went into half time the much better side, but at the start of the second period, it was Forest who came out of the traps flying.

The Cherries withstood sustained pressure, and Kepa was called into action, making an acrobatic save to deny Milenkovic’s goal bound header.

After that warning, Bournemouth clicked into top gear, with Ouattara heading home from Justin Kluivert’s cross in the 54th minute.

Minutes later Kluivert played a brilliant one-two with Ouattara and clinically finished past Matz Sels, yet VAR disallowed the goal due to Ouattara being offside during the interchange.

However, the floodgates had opened and Ouattara doubled his tally and ensured the game was out of Forest’s reach with a brilliant finish into the left corner, following a Tyler Adams through ball.

The game began to peter out, but Ouattara ensured he got his treble, pouncing on a Sels error to knock home from close range in the 87th minute.

More joy was to come in injury time as Antoine Semenyo got in on the act, curling another shot out of Sels’ reach and putting the seal on a euphoric day for Bournemouth.

The Cherries’ biggest win of the season comes at an extremely important time, as the club is dealing with an injury crisis that’s left only 13 senior players fit.

Now they look ahead to their home clash against league leaders Liverpool next Saturday, buoyed by another big result against an in-form side.
