In front of a packed County Ground, Hamworthy United came from behind to beat Glebe FC, 3-2 to reach the last 16 of the FA Vase for the first time in the club's history.

The Hammers got the game underway but it was Chislehurst-based side Glebe that started the better of the two sides. However, with five minutes gone – that all changed with rough challenge on Hamworthy attacker Cam Munn.

Glebe’s Ainsley Everett was given a yellow card for the Challenge on Munn, but it was Darly Coleman who was sent off after disagreeing with the referee’s decision to book his teammate. The captain Glebe captain then proceeded to slap Hamworthy captain, Lee Francis, straight across the face – leaving the visitors down to 10 men for 85 minutes plus any added time.

Despite losing a man, It took just 28 minutes for the away side to grab the opening goal after a Bradley Johnson corner was whipped and met by the head of Jamie Philpot and flew past Shane Murphy in the Hammers goal.

Then, with not long left in the first half, the visitors gave themselves a great chance to continue their cup run. Philpot grabbed his second of the game with a stunning volley to double the visitors lead, leaving the Hammers two down at the break.

With the second half underway, Hamworthy were looking to fight back and show the visitors what they are made of.

Just four minutes after the break, Jack Lovell was brought down in the box and the Hammers were given a perfect opportunity to get back into the game. Steve Devlin stepped up to slot home the penalty sending the Foxes' keeper the wrong way.

Then from a Hamworthy corner came the goal of the competition from Eddie Hodge. The Hammers attacker collected the ball about 25 yards out and smashed it straight into the the top corner – leaving the keeper no chance of saving it . Suddenly the game is two all and its anyone’s game with 20 minutes remaining.

It wasn’t until the 89th minute that the game was decided and it was Hamworthy's Jaime Beasley who completed the comeback for the Poole-based side. The striker was on hand at the back post to tap in a Hodge cross and send the home crowd wild with excitement.

After a thrilling and tense 90 minutes, Hamworthy continue their journey to Wembley with the round of 16 draw being announced on Monday 17th January.
