It was Late Heartbreak for 10-man Poole Town in a Promotion six-pointer against Play-Off Rivals Chesham

It was Chesham who started on the upper foot but Poole had the first really dangerous opportunity as a deflected shot from Declan Rose was saved, the following corner lead to the opener as Will Spetch was left in space at the far post to tap in Colby Moore’s ball making it 1-0 after seven minutes.

Chesham tried to take control of the match in hunt of a leveller but tensions were high and the first booking came for the visitors as a high foot from Frankie Sutherland left him in the book.

Chesham kept rallying and their best opportunity came from a free kick on the edge area but the cross was low and a Gold shirt was there to clear well away from the area.

With just over 5 minutes until the break, the game looked to of calmed down until a moment of madness occurred as Chesham keeper Dante Astor-Baptiste looked to of collected a Poole through but, he messed up his distribution and there to pounce was Toby Holmes giving the dolphins an all-important 2-0 lead going into the break.

The visitors made the first change at half time T’Sharne Gillmore making way for Ricardo German, Chesham needed something different in a match where three points would be crucial for both sides in their quest for promotion.

Early into the second half it should have been Three as Toby Holmes rounded the keeper, but he took one touch too many and wasted a big chance to put the game to bed.

Poole would really regret it as a shot from substitute Ricardo German took a deflection and found the bottom corner, it was game on at Tatnum.

The goal also gave Poole a second wind as they pushed for a third, but the comfort of the 2-goal lead was gone and seconds on from a missed effort it was nearly 2-2 as Zak Joseph forced Dolphins Keeper Luke Cairney into pushing the ball away for a corner

With 20 Minutes to go the super-sub Ricardo German had got the leveller, a low cross found him at close range for a tap in sealing his brace, It was back to square one for Poole.
