Scott Parker revealed the extent of Leif Davis injury after the left back missed the Cherries 1-1 draw with Reading.

The 22-year-old Leeds loanee was brought off in the first of Saturday’s 2-0 win over Derby and was replaced by Jordan Zemura for the visit of Paul Ince’s side.

Speaking in the post match press conference, Parker gave an update on the defender’s injury. “It doesn’t look that bad, it doesn’t look bad at all really I don’t think it is going to be too long."

Parker will welcome back Philip Billing and Adam Smith from suspension for the weekend’s trip to Huddersfield and Robbie Brady and Junior Stanislas should also be close to a return to the squad.

When asked about players returning to the squad and freshening up the team after three games in a week, the former England midfielder responded: “Yeah, got a couple of players back which is helpful and like I said, over the coming days, an important coming days to really freshen up.

“Look, we have taken five points from the three home games, the points are ticking over but of course we would have liked probably a better tally, but likeI said, in this division you can see the results how they come really.

"So we will re group and go again at the weekend."

Saturday’s trip to the John Smith’s Stadium will be vitally important with just three points seperating the Cherries from their opponents in third place.
