It was yet another disappointing afternoon for Andoni Iraola’s men in the Premier League as the Cherries struggled to contain a cutthroat Arsenal attack in a 4-0 defeat.

AFCB started the game with confidence as Solanke went through on goal after Kai Havertz lost possession in the middle of the park, but Bournemouth’s star man was denied by a last-ditch challenge from William Saliba.

Arsenal persisted on the attack throughout the first half which was rewarded with a Bukayo Saka goal, a headed effort into an open net after Gabriel Jesus hit the post.

The Gunners then doubled their lead from the penalty spot right before the interval as Eddie Nketiah was fouled by Max Aarons in the box with Arsenal’s captain Martin Odegaard slotting home to make it 2-0.

Arsenal’s momentum didn’t let up in the second half however as the Gunners won yet another penalty right after half time due to a poor Ryan Christie challenge on Odegaard.

£65 million pound signing Kai Havertz finally grabbed his first Arsenal goal from the spot as he slotted the ball cooly past Neto.

The Cherries reacted well to going three down with a more attacking second-half display however their attempts to score proved futile as Arsenal’s defence put up a solid performance.

To close off a great display, Arsenal right-back Ben White was left unmarked in the dying embers and nodded the ball past Neto to make it 4-0.

The loss means Bournemouth are still yet to win a game in the Premier League this season after 7 outings, there is a sense that AFCB are progressing under Iraola’s tenure, but results will have to start showing soon if the Cherries want to avoid another relegation scrap.

The 3 points returning to North London keeps Arsenal in the title hunt in the early stages of the season with the Gunners unbeaten in their opening 7 games leaving them 2nd in the league.
