Milos Kerkez is set to miss Saturday’s game at the City Ground after picking up a knock midweek.

The full-back has taken part in all-but-one game for the Cherries so far this season, but was spotted wearing protective covering on his dad’s Instagram story on Thursday.

Iraola said: “Milos had a knock yesterday but I hope he recovers and he can play on the weekend.

We have 2/3 players that I hope (will play) but you never know until you go through the processes and do the checks”.

The injury could leave Andoni Iraola struggling for a left-back for this weekend’s game, with Lloyd Kelly also unavailable.

“Whenever you have injuries, you don’t want them to be in the same position. We haven’t had a lot of injuries but especially the midfielders and the full-backs this season have been the ones that have been out.

“We have to be ready for all the scenarios. We need to be ready and think (of) different ways we could go even if Milos is out”.

A player that has returned to the Bournemouth side however is midfielder Alex Scott, who was taken off injured in the 6-1 defeat to Bournemouth but returned to the squad for Saturday’s abandoned fixture against Luton.

Iraola said: “I think the other day was very difficult he could play, but he started training he has a lot of good energy.

“It has been another good week for him and I hope he gets closer to have the rhythm of his teammates and I think he can help us in these games.”

The midfielder will have to earn his way back into the starting eleven however, with the pairing of Cook and Christie impressing in Scott’s absence.

“Alex can play I would say almost anywhere in the middle. Six, eight, ten, even right winger left-winger. I think he has a lot of skills.

“I think he understands the game he’s also someone ready to learn everything take everything from the teammates and like the others he knows he has to fight for his position”.

For the home side the most significant change will be in the dugout, with Forest sacking head coach Steve Cooper this week and replacing him with former Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Iraola was asked in his press conference how his preparations changed over the week with the change of manager.

“I’d say a difficult situation for us training-wise because at the beginning of the week we were preparing for Forest like they were playing with Steve Cooper now we have to think in other situations that we really don’t know because they have a lot of players.

Nuno has played with a lot of different systems so we are trying to focus more on ourselves.”
