Why Join Us?

1) To make a positive impact on somebody else's life

2) To create awareness for an important cause

3) And to make friends for life in this awesome little STAR family

What do we do?

Welcome to Student Action for Refugees (STAR) Bournemouth.

We are a five-star society that brings students together to actively aid refugees and asylum seekers in the current crisis, locally and worldwide.

Together we:

- Run effective campaigns

- Set up volunteer sessions with local refugees

- Put on regular fundraisers

- Educate people about and spread awareness around the refugee crisis

We work to change the lives of refugees locally as well as around the world. We aid refugees financially, assist them in their resettling here in the UK, campaign to our government and local council to improve their support towards refugees, and try to change the language around refugees by educating people on the truths.

We are currently in collaboration with local NGO International Care Network.

Join the STAR family and have your part in making a positive change!

Key Events

After the massive success of our Rave for Refugees at the Winchester in 2017 and Rave for Refugees #2 at the Fire Station in 2018, we will be coming back this year bigger and better to keep up the charitable tradition, so watch this space!
