Vehicle Check Volunteer

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

We are seeking volunteers to help support our local Policing teams in looking after their fleet of marked and unmarked vehicles. This role involves performing basic vehicle checks, such as checking tyre pressures, fluid levels, ensuring all vehicle lights and sirens work. Ideally you will be happy to work outside, have a general interest in looking after vehicles and a desire to help your local Police service. Please note that you need to have lived in the UK for at least 3 years in order to be eligible to apply for any role in the Police.

Dorset Police have a large fleet of vehicles that all need regular weekly checks. It is important to keep all of the vehicles clean, fully equipped and well maintained, in order to keep officers and staff safe at all times.

The Vehicle Check Volunteer will assist with looking after the fleet of both marked and unmarked police vehicles (including small vans and high-performance vehicles), to ensure that they are always safe to use.
