This session is a part of the Sustainable Futures series forming part of The Skills Development Programme.  All sessions under this grouping aim to build awareness of careers which proactively promote sustainable actions towards a better society. These sessions focus on developing skills in global awareness, societal contribution, and collaboration for a common cause. 

During this session you will hear from a variety of different speakers; all of whom have a connection to sustainability in their job role. They will give an insight into how sustainability is embedded into their roles and what skills they deem to be essential in order to be successful in applying for and doing these job roles in future. 

This session aims to introduce the topic of the green world of work and how this is impacting the types of jobs being advertised. 

The session will advise on how you can be building skills throughout your university journey that will support you to find jobs that may not have existed a few years ago.

Sustainability is at the heart of life at BU.?The BU’s?Sustainability team?is enhancing the University's positive impact and provides opportunities to students to develop their sustainability knowledge and skills, enhancing both the quality of life in the local community and their employability. 

Gillie Lewis, SUBU Community Partnerships Manager 
Gillie manages, coordinates, administers and supports the provision and development of the Community Team of the Students Union, specialising in Community Wardens, Community Volunteering and Sustainability to strive to maximise the student involvement of community and volunteering opportunities available, raise awareness of sustainability and help students to integrate in to the local community whilst living and studying in Bournemouth.
