Monday 17 - Friday 21 November

Join us for a week dedicated to sustainability and community action! Green Week celebrates our shared commitment to protecting the planet with hands-on activities, opportunities to meet local conservation charities, deals in our Commercial Venues, and green initiatives across our campuses and out in the local Community. Whether you’re interested in volunteering, reducing waste, or exploring new ways to live sustainably, every action counts.

Let’s make every week a little greener!

Each day of Green Week 2025 has a specific sustainable focus, influenced by the Sustainable Development Goals created by the United Nations Department of Ecological and Social Affairs. All events are free to attend and we invite you to join us during this campaign! This years themes are:

  • Monday 17th - Food Sustainability
  • Tuesday 18th - Climate Action
  • Wednesday 19th - Wildlife Conservation
  • Thursday 20th - Responsible Consumption
  • Friday 21st - Fairtrade Friday

If you have any questions about Green Week 2025 or the events taking place, get in touch at studentopportunitiesteam@bournemouth.ac.uk.

What's in it for me?

A student recently told us that “I always find volunteering gives you something back. Whether it’s a feeling of doing something good or an opportunity to make new friends, it's always worthwhile.” Beyond this you gain useful skills, it looks good on your CV, which may help you to find placements and/or post-graduate jobs. Some of our students go on to work for the charities that they have volunteered for.
